The resort
Val Cenis brings together the villages of Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis, Lanslevillard, Termignon, Sollières-Sardières and Bramans. Its ski area advertises 125 km of pistes between 1,300 and 2,800 m, including the Escargot, a 10 km green run that descends alongside the Mont-Cenis pass road.
Why go from Valfréjus
- The Espace Haute Maurienne Vanoise pass covers the six resorts of the valley (350 km of alpine skiing advertised): a day at Val Cenis to vary your pistes, without changing pass.
- A bigger, wider ski area than Valfréjus, well suited to intermediate skiers.
- In summer: downhill mountain biking, walks towards the Vanoise park, swimming pool and lake depending on the season (check opening times).
The villages and the Baroque
Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg have 17th-century chapels and churches with gilded altarpieces: the Chapelle Saint-Sébastien in Lanslevillard and its murals are the jewel. Guided visits are part of the Baroque Trails circuit in Savoie.
