The resort
Created in the 1970s in the commune of Villarodin-Bourget, La Norma is a car-free resort set on a balcony at 1,350 m, facing the Vanoise massif. It holds the Famille Plus label: forest pistes, a snow front reachable on foot, a children’s garden and a sledging area.
Why ski there from Valfréjus
- The Valfréjus pass includes La Norma (and vice versa): you can spend a day there at no extra cost, shuttle excepted. Check the current year’s terms on the lift pass website.
- A complementary ski area: different aspect, wide forest pistes well suited to children.
- Off the slopes: ice rink, sledging, snowshoeing to the Esseillon forts.
In summer
A chairlift open on certain days for mountain bikers and walkers, paths to the Esseillon forts and the Vanoise alpine pastures, and a lively summer village.
Practical information
- By road: about 20 minutes via Modane then the D215; car parks at the entrance to the resort.
- A shuttle sometimes links the resorts in winter: see the season’s timetable.
